About Me

My name is Sampad Ghosh. Currently, I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, shortly CUET, Chattogram, Bangladesh.

I got a bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. Engg.) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from CUET in 2009. I was ranked 1st Class 1st among a total of 111 successful undergraduate students. I have been awarded the ‘University Gold Medal’ for securing the highest cumulative grade point average in the enrolled session. After working in the telecommunication industry in Bangladesh for more than one year, I started my academic career as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, CUET in 2011 and was promoted to Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in 2014 and 2022, respectively.

In 2015, I have selected in the Program for Leading Graduate Schools of Kyushu University, Japan for pursuing higher studies, which is funded by the Japanese Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS). I received a master’s degree (M.Sc.) and a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan in 2017 and 2020, respectively. I was a Research Support Staff of Professor Bidyut Baran Saha, who is also my Ph.D. supervisor, at the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (WPI-I2CNER), Kyushu University during April 2019 to March 2020. I was also a Short-term Scholar at the NanoScience Technology Center (NSTC), University of Central Florida, the USA from November 2018 to January 2019. I won the Young Researcher Award on Energy Research by Kyushu University Platform of Inter/Transdisciplinary (Q-PIT) in 2018 and 2019, respectively. I was named as Best Presenter in the 6th International Exchange and Innovation Conference on Engineering & Sciences (IEICES) in 2020, the 5th International Conference on Polygeneration (ICP) in 2019, and Kyushu University Platform of Inter/Transdisciplinary (Q-PIT) Energy Week in 2019. My research interest encompasses predominantly synthesis and characterization of energy harvesting and storage materials. I am also a Professional Engineer registered with the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh.
